Yummy Maple Candy
Posted by whaleadmin in Health & Fitness on October 29th, 2009
Maple candy is another sweet-tasting product created out of birch sap. The process it undergoes takes the same system as that in cooking syrup, butter, or making maple sugar. The procedure begins with sap-gathering and then immediately taken into the sugarhouse where the sap collected will be boiled down until evaporation takes place.
In the United States, the sugar on snow is the more popular gift-treat made out of maple syrup called pure maple candy. It is characterized by a thick, golden brown and glutinous maple syrup that when poured onto a clean snow instantaneously cools off and thickens. In English-speaking areas in Canada, it’s called maple taffy and tire d’érable for French-speaking Canadian community.
The discovery of this delectable sweet was purely accidental. Had there been no super heavy weight snow on top of the tree trunk, a juicy liquid would not leak out of the broken twig and fall right on the snow. Maple taffy is typically mounted on a wooden stick or in a fork - just imagine a roll of snow on a stick dip with yummy maple syrup.
Does a Large Fridge Use More Energy Than a Small Fridge
Posted by whaleadmin in Home and Furnishings on October 29th, 2009
So you find this over sized fridge on sale. Great! But is it worth it for you family’s needs? So many times hear buy it large! Yes sometimes that is right. For my parents when I was growing up it would have saved us money. There are seven of us kids. Plus my mom and dad. Now that we are all grown and out of the home that same fridge will cost them more money to use it then to get a smaller one. If you have a large family then yes it will save you money then a smaller frigde as it will not have to work as hard to keep your food fresh and cool. As to if you get a smaller one and keep it packed all time. I hear alot that it’s all the same. Then I say no a small fridge energy use does not make up for the fact that it cannot hold very many items. The more you fill it the easier it is to over fill it. When you over or under fill it you make that item work harder. So is that money that you are saving now going to be worth it on your energy bill?

Posted by whaleadmin in Home and Furnishings on October 29th, 2009
Anyone that has a window that overlooks a garden would be crazy to use any other window coverings than wooden blinds. The effect that you get by installing wooden blinds on a window overlooking a garden is spectacular. It really helps to draw the outdoors inside, giving you a feeling of the backyard being just an extension of your home, rather than something that is separate from it.
Having wooden blinds installed in your home is also great for the resale value of the house. Real Estate agents will tell you that if you are putting your house up for auction or for sale, then putting up a few wooden blinds makes such an impact on the look of your home, that it can increase the sale price by literally thousands of dollars.

Wine Glasses For The Distinguished Wine Drinker
Posted by whaleadmin in Home and Furnishings on October 28th, 2009
Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or you simply enjoy a glass now and then, it helps to know a few things about wine glasses. For not all glasses are created equal. There are different types, each suited to a special purpose, and it pays to know the difference. Crystal wine glasses are especially beautiful, but it is not just the material they are made from that makes them special, instead the shape of the glasses plays a special role.
Red wine glasses are generally larger and more spherical than their white-wine counterparts. The larger bowl allows more contact between the air and the wine, and this process, called aeration, is essential for red wines to taste their best. (This is what people mean when they talk about letting a wine “breathe.”)
A white wine, however, does not need to breathe. In fact, a white wine is best served in a glass with a slightly tapered mouth; this sort of opening concentrates the wine’s “bouquet” – its nuanced blend of floral and fruit aromas. A white wine glass also has a longer stem than a red wine glass, and for another crucial purpose: to encourage you to hold it. For when you hold your white wine glass the wrong way, by the bowl, the heat from your hand disturbs the wine’s delicate balance of flavors.
As you can see, there is a special logic behind wine glasses, and a special design. Use them properly, and they will help you unlock the greatest flavor from your favorite wine.
Keep Your Anonymity When Selling Settlements
Posted by whaleadmin in Business & Marketing on October 28th, 2009
Most factoring companies sell lists of contacts who are selling structured settlement payments as a regular process. This is a cash cow and they do not find anything wrong with the practice. However this means that after giving information to a company an individual can start receiving an enormous number of solicitations for all kinds of items. It is important when dealing with factoring companies that personal information be kept personal.
Online marketplace auctions are becoming increasingly popular for selling settlements. First there is a level of anonymity that the auction provides. Although personal information is taken from the auction, it is not provided to the bidders of the auction and is not sold to list vendors. This assures the bidder that they will not receive any unsolicited advertising or phone calls. Next, the funding firms that are bidding on the settlement work through a process and are registered with the auction so they are legitimate and once a bid is won the money for the settlement is received relatively quickly.
Time To Join The YouTube Revolution

It’s inevitable, that at some point all of us need to do a little work on YouTube. It’s an important community resource that we all spend time watching, so it’s important that we actually give a little back. It’s really easy to do, and actually quite a bit of fun to get involved. Who knows, if you’ve got some really fun videos, people may really get a charge out of them. I’ve got a few videos I’ve been meaning to share for a while. They were when my kids were little, and we visited Disney World. We’re actually at Epcot, and they’re playing in some dancing fountain thing. It’s actually pretty funny, so I won’t introduce any spoilers here. Who knows, you may actually be watching it on YouTube someday.
Walk In Closet Ideas
Posted by whaleadmin in Home and Furnishings on October 27th, 2009
Some people like to color coordinate their closets and it goes without saying that this may take up substantially more cupboard space, but by separating items by color, you quickly see how much space you will need to do this. Keep the total amount of clothing items in mind when allocating space, irrespective of what color they may be. A well organized bedroom starts with great closet shelving that was designed and build to house the specific items meant to be housed in that closet. When you are brainstorming and coming up with walk in closet ideas there are a lot of factors at stake and you want to make sure you get the right closet organizing system to meet your needs. Closet shelving is always a must in any closet organizer.
The Art Of Concrete Staining II

Remember a clear coating refreshes your floor. You can color-coordinate to match the homes exterior, or use a contrasting color. Colors are made of acrylic paint chips, which are very durable. With staining wear and tear is almost non-existent from walking and driving on it.
If there are imperfections in the floor base, simply fill in, then coat. A medium or light paint chip is recommended for a non-decorative floor. To prevent liquid penetration and moisture build up under the layer, use a quality coating. More layers you have the longer it will last.
The more layers of the coating you use, the more durable the floor. In addition, a high impact resistance garage floor coating is helpful in shops that have heavy machines with service areas and high traffic on the floors. Less of a coating will not hold up to the daily wear and tear in these shops, they need high impact resistance coating.
