One of the best designs for an amethyst ring is where they take amethyst gemstones and set them in a cluster. This can be a simple setup in the center of the ring or designed in such a way as to create floral pictures or anything inbetween. By clustering the violet beauties the jeweler magnifies the charm and elegance of the ring. This is true to a certain extent, of course.
