About Suboxone Treatment
Posted by GuestPoster in Fitness and Medicine on February 12th, 2010
There are many options for people who are addicted to opiate based drugs, and one of those options is Suboxone treatment. Opiate drugs include painkillers such as prescription medications such as Vicodin, but also some street drugs such as heroin. People who get addicted to opiates have a very hard time stopping their use of the drug, because the physical withdrawal symptoms are so uncomfortable.
Suboxone is actually a medicine that was developed to help treat opiate withdrawal, but it can also be used for long term drug maintenance in the opiate addict. There are actually two medications in each pill of Suboxone, one is a synthetic partial opiate and the other is an opiate blocker. They put the opiate blocker into the medicine so that people can not melt the pill down and inject it, thus abusing it.
The fact that it is a partial opiate rather than a full opiate makes a big difference. Full opiates are the drugs that people get addicted to and can produce a powerful high, even causing people to nod out when they use a lot of the drug. But the partial opiate in Suboxone is not this powerful, and does not produce as much of a euphoric effect. The drug is designed to fill the opiate receptors in the brain and bring relief, rather than to flood the system and induce a drunken stupor of complete euphoria.
As a method of opiate addiction treatment, Suboxone can be very expensive in the long run. But this is not always an issue for opiate addicts because most of them were spending even more money on their favorite opiate drug before they got clean. So the cost can be mitigated by the fact that they are no longer abusing drugs.
Some people do not think that it makes sense to treat drug addicts with pills, but in some cases, addicts have had great success with this particular medication in helping them to stay clean.
Laser Compared to Traditional Lipo
Posted by GuestPoster in Fitness and Medicine on February 6th, 2010
One of the most popular procedures in recent years before the current economic downturn has been liposuction in all its varying methods and techniques. The reason liposuction surgeons are missing out today is the simple fact that most people do not have to money or line of credit to afford such procedures. Some have opted to travel in search of lower liposuction prices.
Liposuction is described as a type of surgical procedure that involves the removal of fat deposits by using suction and so contouring only the portions of the patient’s figure in the places where this method is utilized. Though no variety of liposculpture can be a stand-in in place of an active lifestyle and healthy eating, however it can remove stubborn deposits of body fat that do not respond to typical dieting programs.
Differing from regular liposculpture or liposuction, laser fat removal does not make use of suction methods. In its place, a small, tube-like surgical instrument called a ‘cannula’ containing the laser is placed inside the area of the body and then used to liquefy the fat deposits. Following this the liquid areas of fat are drained from the body via little tiny cuts.
Since it is a generally a smaller procedure, laser liposuction risks are greatly less severe than traditional liposuction. This technique is easier and leaves less scarring than with a traditional type. With this type of lipo, the surgeon will sculpt your figure using a tiny ‘cannula’ together with a state-of-the-art laser, which will produce exact figure shaping and promote skin tightening. No sutures are required, and any scars are miniscule.
Since laser lipo is an uncomplicated type of procedure, as a rule laser lipo surgeries will be carried out in the liposuction surgeon’s clinic. During laser lipolysis, the patient remains un-sedated all through the procedure, and will walk out of the clinic and return home very shortly afterward. One more benefit can be that nearly all people are back to all normal daily routines in one to two days time.
What Are Fetal Dopplers?
Posted by GuestPoster in Fitness and Medicine on December 14th, 2009
Fetal dopplers are devices that are used to listen to a baby’s heartbeat while it is in the mother’s womb. You can get an analog Doppler that just provides the sound of the heart beating, but with these you have to count the heart rate yourself. If you get a digital Doppler, it will calculate the baby’s heart rate automatically and display it on a screen. A fetal Doppler is a non-invasive way to monitor your baby while it develops. Its technology is similar to what an ultrasound uses, especially the transducer that you put on your body while listening to the baby. These fetal Dopplers are designed for home use, so they don’t give you a picture of the baby like an ultrasound does. What these are really good for is for assurance that the baby is doing well. Since the speed of the baby’s heart rate can be indicative of a problem, make sure you talk with your doctor to know what the range the heart rate should be within. Advance information about a potential problem could be invaluable in getting proper medical attention for your baby. You can get some cheap baby heart monitors to buy, but why not rent a high quality Doppler for the duration of your pregnancy? The cost is usually affordable and might be preferable to buying the unit unless you are sure you are going to have more children. One more thing, when shopping be sure to check out the megahertz of the probe. Probes that are 2 megahertz or more are generally recognized as the best at providing clear sound. As always, be sure to talk with your doctor or midwife about this before you rent or buy any equipment. He or she may have a preferred brand to look for or even some discount coupons! Fetal Doppler Rental Information
Posted by GuestPoster in Fitness and Medicine on December 13th, 2009
An increasing number of pregnant couples and their families are turning to Fetal Doppler rental to provide them with a unique way of bonding with their unborn child. Fetal dopplers, similar to those used in the doctor’s office to listen to the baby’s heartbeat can now be rented from companies such as www.bellybeats.com or www.fetalsure.com for somewhere around $20~$25 per month. It is recommended to use the clear gel with the unit for optimal functioning and sound capture. Although, these units can be both a blessing and a curse. They can provide a great deal of reassurance for parents if the pregnancy is high risk. And, they may help prevent unnecessary visits to the doctor if the baby is not moving around much and the parents are worried about the well being of their unborn child. In five minutes or less a healthy heartbeat can be found and the parents can rest easy once again. On the other hand, should the expectant mother or father not be able to operate the Doppler correctly; for example trying to find the baby’s heartbeat before the recommended eleven weeks time frame, or looking in the wrong place, can have the parents rushing to their doctor in a blind panic when all is in fact, well. It is a personal preference whether to have a fetal Doppler at home during your pregnancy but it is, it appears, one that is increasingly popular. Speak to your doctor or health care professional prior to purchasing or renting a unit and make sure you know how to use it properly.
If nothing else mothers (and fathers) can rest easy and have peace of mind knowing that their baby is developing normally and safely. What’s next, at home ultra sound machines so you can actually see the baby in ultrasound 3D? Only, if the rumors are to be believed, if you are Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The Best Stop Smoking Aid
Posted by whaleadmin in Fitness and Medicine on July 20th, 2009
It’s hard for a non smoker to appreciate just how difficult giving up the habit is. It’s hard to even describe the awful sense of longing a smoker has when they haven’t had a fix for a while. For many, it’s as if they have lost their best friend, and they can’t think about anything else. They find it hard to concentrate at work, and get irritable at the drop of a hat.
Going cold turkey is the most effective way of giving up smoking. That’s a statement you don’t hear all that often, because the companies that are making all the quit smoking products that are out there would much prefer you to spend your hard earned money on them. Also, the tobacco companies know that as long as they stifle your willpower, you will remain a faithful servant of the cancer stick. I’m going to tell you the holy grail of stop smoking right now, so pay attention. The best stop smoking aid in the world is a friend or partner that will be by your side as you go cold turkey. Just plain stop, and have someone there to remind you that you have.

Seasilver Vitamins and Minerals

When it comes to maintaining a healthy body, vitamins and minerals are absolutely essential. Without them we wouldn’t be able to function properly let alone really survive.
A vitamin serves its purpose and is important because it allows our bodies to turn food into energy. Some are stored so that when your body is deprived of nutrients they can be released, while others aren’t stored and only travel through the bloodstream, making them even more essential in everyday living.
A mineral is essential because it is the element that supports the growth of tissue and cells in our bodies. A mineral actually consists of two different groups. The first group is made up of calcium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium while the second group consists of copper, iodine, iron, manganese, fluorine, selenium, and zinc. Both groups play an important role in the way our body functions.
So you see, both vitamins and minerals, which can be found in SeaAloe (the original Seasilver vitamins and minerals formula), are extremely important when it comes to our health and most importantly our lives.
