During the Holidays Seattle DUI Patrols Rise

I love the holidays. Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, family and friends all around. Beer and wine flowing like water. Everyone is in a cheery mood. Except for the cops. The cops are not in a cheery mood because they think that everyone that leaves a Christmas party is drunk and is going to endanger everyone else on the road. Trust me. I know. I am a Seattle DUI attorney, and I every year the number of people that call me around the holidays far outweighs the number of calls at any other time of year (though Fourth of July is a close second).
And the thing is, the cops are not shy about telling you what they are doing. In the past week alone I’ve read at least three articles letting everone know that the cops are going to be out on DUI emphasis patrols over the holidays. The headlines say things like: “Cops Increase DUI Patrols in December”; “DUI Patrols Beefing Up for Coming Weekends”; and “Issaquah Police, Other Agencies Plan Increased DUI Patrols.” So the information is out there – drive at your own risk during the holidays.
When I talk to friends and family about this, I always strongly caution them to take every reasonable step necessary not to get pulled over by the cops during this time of the year. I’m a good DUI attorney, and I’d definitely help them out if they got in trouble, but in the end, it really isn’t worth taking the chance of getting caught and having to go through the process of fighting for your reputation, your future, and often your livelihood.
So, next time you go to that holiday party or show up for that Christmas dinner, drink and dance and chat to your heart’s delight. But please set up the situation in advance so you don’t have to make the decision as you are leaving whether or not you are going to drive home. This means arrange for a cab beforehand, designate (and pay – this is the motivation many people need to stay sober) a designated driver for the night, rent out a limo, or come up with something else so that you don’t find yourself behind the wheel. Your family will thank you, your job will thank you, and your reputation will thank you.

Tattoo Removal Creams or TCA Chemical Peels

After far too much research into something that I should’ve just decided on after a day of reading about it, I’ve finally come to a conclusion on what to do about my (unwanted) tattoo. The fear mongering about TCA peels has kept me at bay. I admit it folks, I don’t like anything that creates some kind of controlled little fire (also known as inflammation) on my skin to get rid of the ink. Sounds painful right? Oh wait – that’s because it is!
So instead of setting myself on fire and then watching the tattoo burn off (ha), I bought one of those over the counter, painless tattoo removal creams that I read about at the Tattoo Removal Creams Guide.
I will let you know how it goes. I think it will take under 2 months to significantly fade this tattoo on my calf using this tattoo removal cream called Wrecking Balm. If not, well, I will cash in on that money back offer and try some TCA chemical peels (with a fire extinguisher near by, of course!)
Recording Your Life

If you want to be able to examine your life, to see how you have grown through the years, nothing is better than keeping a journal. In your journal, you can write things such as your goals and dreams and your thoughts as you make your way from one goal to another. You can record your accomplishments as well as your failures and how you reacted to them. You can also record important life lessons you have picked up over the years as well. You can use leather journals to write all of this in. By doing this, you will be able to revisit your past and see how you have grown. You can also see certain patterns that repeat itself which can help you achieve your goals a lot more effectively.
The Right Time for Getting Back Together

People sometimes wonder when it is the right time to try getting back together after a break up. Honestly, that depends on each individual situation. There are some relationships that need little more than a sincere apology to set things right. Those are usually the break ups that resulted from some argument that unexpectedly spun out of control. Other relationships though, are much more complicated. There are numerous issues that could bring about the total collapse of a committed partnership and many of those issues can have roots that run deep. These situations at the very least need some serious adjustments to be made if getting back together again is ever going to be a realistic option.
