Although not as popular as it once was, you will also find homes that have resistance heat built into the ceiling. These systems do not require the wall space of the baseboard heaters and are virtually invisible. There are also forced air resistance heaters that can be built into the walls of a home. These small units are less expensive than a central heating unit and offer zone heating for the home. The heat is forced into the room through a vent that looks much like a central heating unit vent. Many of these heating systems are powered on electricity, but you can find some that run on propane or natural gas if you would prefer that.
