I was only 16 years old when I first injured my back skiing. While it did put my down for a couple of days, at 16 you can pretty much get over anything, and I did. I continued with a very active lifestyle that involved a lot of impact to my spine (skiing, soccer, martial arts). In my 20’s I often had ‘episodes’ that put me down for days at a time. Eventually, a car accident I was in when I was 30 years old made things so bad that it seemed like I was in anything from mild discomfort to excruciating pain more often than I was feeling normal. I was reluctant to have surgery because the success rate is only 50/50. Fortunately a friend let me try his inversion table. While it didn’t cure all my problems (and eventually I did have surgery), it usually gave me at least temporary relief when nothing else would. If you’ve ever had constant, severe back pain, you can appreciate what a miracle this was for me.
