Some art paintings are awful and I cannot make head or tail of them at all. I think of an art painting as something pleasant to look at with a good subject or discernable event on the canvas. I love landscapes and flower paintings but I also like an old fashioned oil painting showing old villages or cottages. What I dislike in the art world are those abstract pictures which do nothing at all for me. I don’t know what they mean or what was going on in the artists head when he (or she) painted them.
I pay frequent visits to galleries and I view all types of art including installations, sculpture, stoneware, oils, watercolors and many others but I have thus far failed to enjoy or understand abstract pictures and paintings. One abstract painting I saw was just a blank canvas ready for the artist to make an impression but seemingly the artist was making a statement with the work, whatever that means. I was told afterwards that the painting actually had a small dot on it but I had failed to see it.
Some of these abstract pictures sell very well (for millions of dollars) and are painted by well known artists but the fact remains that nobody has a clue as to what the painting means. Maybe this is the intention of the artist and we are to be left guessing Friends of mine who are also art lovers have tried to explain the abstract concept of art to me but they have failed as it just sounds like ‘art speak’. Art speak excludes the common person from the art world and is full of meaningless phrases and facts which are ridiculous. I have many paintings on my walls but none of them are what could be described as abstract pieces.

Tous In Heaven by Tous (best known for their jewellery for teenagers) was launched in 2008 in both masculine and feminine versions. The perfume bottle of this edition for women deserves to be mentioned, as it has a convex base, which makes it swing without toppling. According to the designer is should be seen as a symbol of freedom and stability at the same time. The official notes are: green apple, pineapple, red fruits, white peony, blue freesia, tiare flower, vanilla, musk and sandalwood.
The opening is very fruity and sweet, with concentrated notes that could be found in an aromatherapy extract. It is quite unusual to find fragrances with such concentrated notes. Prada perfume would be one such example, with its very concentrated spices. There is also a second line of sugary notes, which remains in the background, without interfering with the fruits. In the middle phase, it is still very sweet, but fresher floral notes are introduced. On the side of the fruity notes, there is now an intense and concentrated green apple standing out from the rest. At this stage, this perfume by Tous reminds of a very aromatic soap, and there is also a hint of tiare flower, which normally gives an aroma of sun-tan lotion, but in this case it feels more synthetic. Towards the end of the middle notes, there is a dominating note of vanilla, plus other flower extracts. In the base notes this fragrance is still soapy, with a more intense non-traditional florals. The musk of the official notes starts to appear at the very end.
This Tous in heaven for women is a non-complex fragrance, with young notes of fruits and intense vanilla. It fits the profile of a typical teenage-fragrance (Jennifer Lopez perfume would be another excellent example of this category). On the romantic side it is pleasant, but it should be worn more as a personal fragrance, rather than with social purposes. The ideal age starts very early, at 15, and can go up to 40 with the right personality.
