How Reducing Anxiety Can Make You A Better Parent

Do you ever have days when you can’t help but yell at the kids. You are so worried about their safety and health but they don’t seem to be so when they insist of sticking their fingers in the socket or eating mud, your anxiety goes through the roof. This can make you tell them off and get angry at them when it isn’t really their fault. Do you do this a lot? Then your anxiety levels may be getting too much for you and you need to sort them out quick.

We all know that children are hard work. It doesn’t matter what age they are, there will be something that they are going through or a phase that has developed that just drives you round the bend. Those who have perfect children will suffer eventually just like the rest of us do every day. They may cause us lots of anguish but we love them to bits and want whats best for them. This is why we worry about every little detail, only some of us worry more than we should. This is where the anxiety comes in. We worry that our children aren’t getting enough calcium, too much sugar, not enough fruit, too many e-numbers, and that’s just their diet! When we turn to the big things like their schools and their education, its almost impossible to hide the levels of anxiety that we have when it comes to our kids.

By reducing anxiety and worrying about the small things, we can focus our energy on the bigger priorities and be better parents. So many people suffer from the physical symptoms of anxiety attacks when they are looking after their children and this can really scare them and can make it dangerous if anything actually did happen to you, or them. In order to reduce the anxiety, it may be worthwhile taking an hour or two to yourself each day without the kids. This will make you more relaxed and allow your mind o sort out what issues it has before you have to tackle the daily lives of your children. You could try getting up an hour earlier then your children, this will get you mentally prepared for the day and when your kids do wake up you will be in a positive frame of mind so that you can take on anything. Reduce anxiety and be a better parent.

Drive Away Your Driving Fear

Driving phobia is deemed as the most common phobia of all and it is also the most troubling and debilitating one there is. Those people who are scared of driving usually find their professional career, social life and general welfare in shambles because of this condition.

However, what is really disturbing is the fact that in spite of the devastating effects brought about by this disorder, many of those who are afflicted by it tend to ignore it and do nothing about it. They simply resolve to commuting via bus, taxi, train etc. They also do everything they can just so they could avoid doing any activities that requires getting behind the wheel and driving. Most of them choose to stay in the confines of their homes as well.

This is truly unfortunate because the fear of driving phobia is actually very much treatable and there are ways that can be done in order for you to ultimately eliminate this fear, so you could get your life back. Driving phobia is just the same as that of any phobia which is a mental condition that you can control and overcome. If you decide that you want to conquer your fear, here are a handful of tips that you can try out.

1.) While driving, play a nice and relaxing music on your car stereo. The music needs to be soothing and calming, so as a suggestion, try playing classical music. This will help bring down your high levels of stress and make the ride more enjoyable.

2.) You can also ask a friend of yours to accompany you whenever you go for a drive. Having a driving buddy will help you become more confident and you will also get less scared if you have someone inside the car with you.

3.) Whenever you feel that a panic episode is underway, take slow and deep breaths. This will calm your racing heartbeat and help you get focused and relaxed as well.
