Most people enjoy decorating a child’s room because they can have so much fun choosing decor items and sky’s the limit on their imagination. One accessory that makes a wonderful addition is a wool rug. There are some good ideas in this article for any decorating novice.
Handcrafted, quality wool rugs for kids are the perfect addition to a child’s room and the softness of these rugs is a major plus point. There is a wide range of styles and colors to choose from as well as sizes to suit most rooms and decorating styles. One does not have to stick to traditional, rectangular shaped rugs; go for the oval or round rugs, octagons, and squares to make the room look more appealing.
If it is a boy’s room, there are area rugs that feature cowboys, airplanes, fast cars animals, a variety of sports designs, and comic book heroes. For a girl’s room, there are floral designs and storybook characters. For younger children, like preschoolers, there are educational themes like world maps, alphabets, puzzles, numbers, and nursery rhymes to choose from.
The good thing about wool rugs is they are safe for children to lie on or play on. They provide a warm base for little bodies or feet and make children feel warm and comfortable. In fact, it is quite possible to even have a problem getting a child up off the rug and into bed.
Choose an area rug for a child’s room that does not have fringes. It is a well known fact that children love to play with the tassels and get their fingers stuck and there is a pet in the household, the rug may be destroyed. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning the rug because children and pets can be a bit messy; that is why it is not a good idea to choose very light colored rugs.
