What Is An In Ground Car Hoist?
Posted by GuestPoster in Auto Repair and Maintenance on April 21st, 2010
In ground hoist systems are mostly required by large automotive shops, construction sites and engineers to be able to do their work effectively. Most often they may be able to purchase this because of the huge size and difficulty in installation. So the systems are usually custom made according to the requirements of the user. The design enables it to lift various kinds of vehicles that vary in size and shape.
There are three different types of in ground car hoists. They are:
- Deep ditch: This is an old design of hoisting vehicles. These are fixed in very deep pitches or even basements. This allows limitless and easy access to each of its lifting components. For those who need to utilize maximum space this is an ideal one. Only one drawback is that you may have to make a very large pit of about 16-20 feet for installing it.
- Shallow ditch: This is a better alternative to the first type because you need not spend much time on digging a huge pit and installing it inside it. These kinds of systems are easier to maintain and you don’t have to pay as much as you pay for the deep pit type. You will only have to make a pit of about 3-4 feet for appropriate installation and positioning of the system.
- C frame: This kind of system has special mechanical supports and wide clearances to allow easy and convenient assembly of vehicles. They also have a strong lift with two rail sets.
One great place to find these is at Globalspec’s website where you will discover all kinds of information on the systems including how to fix them. Another place to look for is Royaltylift.com that offers all types of hoist systems with details of installation too. Sometimes you can also find these systems being offered at good discounted rates but as long as you know exactly what you are looking for when you make a search you should be able to come across a good deal.
