The first step is to get quotes from as many companies as possible. This will ensure that you will be able to get the lowest rates available. At the same time, don’t sacrifice quality for the lowest price.
Next, take advantage of every discount you can. Not all companies offer discounts, but try to factor in the possibility for discounts when you are shopping around with different companies.
Finally, set a high deductible. If are willing to pay a higher deductible, your agent will know they have to pay less and will charge you lower premiums.

Save money by getting cheap car insurance – sounds obvious, right? But the majority of people don’t get the cheapest car insurance they could be getting. Because they don’t shop around for it.
People assume that car insurance is the same no matter which company they go with. This assumption is wrong. In fact, with all submitted information for quotes being equal, the quoted premiums my vary drastically. Even by hundreds of dollars. This is because different insurers place use different research methodologies and place different emphasis on different factors when deciding what to quote you. They all have their different algorithims for working out how much of a risk you are to insure – the riskier the insurance company thinks you are, the more expensive your premium will be.
So shop around, and I bet you’ll get quite a shock (a pleasant one) when you recieve some cheap car insurance quotes, compared to what you are currently paying.
