My mom recently bought a lift top coffee table.  I was skeptical at first when she told me about her purchase, both because she should not be spending the money and because I imagined a delicate piece of furniture with moving parts that only increased the likelihood for problems.

Fortunately, however, I was wrong.  Her lift top coffee table is in fact a sturdy and well designed piece of furniture.  When I last visited her, I was surprised with just how versatile it is.  She keeps her favorite magazines stashed away to keep the living room looking neat and tidy, but she can easily access them whenever she pleases.

And although she will hate me for writing about this publicly, she even keeps some of her favorite snack foods handy.  Now while lounging in her living room she can easily access her favorite snacks, her favorite magazines and do it all in a position which keeps her comfortable.
