Constipation is not hard to recognize and there are many constipation remedies that you can use. One indicator that you are constipated is when you are unable to eject your body’s solid waste. Passing the stools can be extremely difficult as they become dry and hard. The pain is excruciating and intolerable. Nobody wants to experience such torturous feeling. It is essential that you choose the right diet for constipation so your body will always be in good condition. One of the methods that you can employ to defeat your bowel problems is by choosing the right diet for constipation.
The cause and cure for constipation is a change in diet. When you have low fiber intake and drink less fluid, you are allowing toxins to enter your body as your immune system weakens when your body lacks vitamins and minerals that serve as a big factor in fighting bacteria. Eat fresh fruits that are rich or high in fiber such as watermelons and cantaloupe. These fruits have high water content and can make the stools softer. Avoid eating fatty foods such as meats and eggs as they are low in fiber and can make your digestive tract produce more gas.
A well-balanced diet should be coupled with high fiber intake to make sure that your body can defend itself against bacteria. There are a lot of benefits that eating fibrous foods provide. It can increase the size of the stool and hasten the process of defecation. If your body is having difficulty digesting the food that you eat, the best way to promote good digestion is soluble fiber. Lentils, apples, barley and bread are rich in soluble fiber.
Constipation is present when you are dehydrated. You should see to it that you maintain sufficient consumption of water everyday which is six to eight glasses of water. Hard and dry feces are caused by low intake of water. You should not only drink water but fruit juice as well so your body can get enough fluid that is very crucial in the process of expelling solid waste. For normal bowel movements, you should drink a glass of water in the morning and stay away from caffeinated drinks such as coffee.
You can use laxatives if constipation cannot be cured by simply changing your diet. However, you should consult your doctor first so he can provide you the right dosage. Make sure that you do not abuse the use of laxative as this can ruin the natural process inside your body making your digestive system lazy and inefficient.
Diet for constipation can maximize the ability of your colon to flush the toxins and impurities inside your body. You should also exercise regularly to ensure that you are washing the waste products double time.
The importance of treating constipation

Though generally constipation is a phenomenon featuring irregular bowel movements, all persons do not exhibit the same symptoms. For some it is to do with infrequent stools, for others it may appear as pain during passing of stools and still some others experience an unfinished feeling even after a bowel movement. Extreme manifestation of constipation is the hardening of stool in the rectum denying passage to any stool. It is important that early diagnosis must distinguish between acute constipation which may lead to colon tumors, and the chronic constipation which can be treated without serious problems, with methods such as dietary changes or treatment with fiber supplements or laxatives.
