Using An Effective Cardio Program
Posted by GuestPoster in Health & Fitness on September 2nd, 2010
Effective cardiovascular (cardio) workouts entail reaching something known as the target heart rate. This is achieved through a regiment of vigorous exercise that is sustained for a specified period of time. Target heart rates use 50-85% of the heart’s maximum load. The number of beats per minute (heart rate) is the primary indicator that the target rate has been achieved. However, this rate varies and is dependent upon age. A good cardio program begins with a 20 minute workout for those who have not exercised regularly, and can increase with time. The benefits are weight loss, stress reduction, weight management and a positive self image.
It is important to set goals while performing any exercise regularly. This prevents boredom and promotes on ongoing desire to continue the regime indefinitely. Whether the overall idea is to lose weight or to increase endurance, goals can help build the level of fitness and promote longevity within a cardio program.
For those with active gym or fitness club memberships, there are many machines that can provide effective cardio workouts. Most of these machines have several settings. Starting out slow with a minimum intensity level is often the best method in the beginning. These controls can usually be adjusted to the desired levels for each individual throughout the course of working out.
After becoming accustomed to the machines of choice at the fitness facility, choosing a regular workout with specific time limits is an important step. Slowly increasing the time spent on the machines as well as the intensity levels will improve fitness overall, but great care must be taken to prevent injury. It is always best to consult a physician and have a thorough health screening prior to engaging in any exercise. Certified personal trainers can also help to assure the safety and quality of any workout.
The key to achieving the desired results with an effective cardio program is to become goal oriented. Determination and mental endurance is often easier said than done. Therefore, success is achieved only through effort and putting in the necessary time for good results to occur. Consider looking at heart rate monitor or Suunto T4C watch.

Having a healthy lifestyle is an important concern that is often overlooked by a lot of people. It is essential to maintain and promote well-being of a person. People do unhealthy habits during their early adult days and what comes in return: Health problems in the future. Aged adults need to watch over their health because as age increases the human body deteriorates.
As the human body ages, the cardiovascular activity deteriorates. They become at risk for a lot of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis (arteries thicken as a result of collection of cholesterol deposits), arteriosclerosis (arteries become stiff), or even worse, heart diseases such as heart attack and heart failure. These are common diseases developing in old age when you don’t maintain a healthy lifestyle. They must maintain a healthy lifestyle so that they could still perform activities of daily living as appropriate as how younger people do it. It’s preferable for older people to do cardiovascular exercises. That’s what doctors always recommend to their elderly patients. That’s why I bought a lifestyler treadmill for my mother.
Lifestyler treadmills are the best exercise machines available in the market. Lifestyler treadmills are the most effective machines for burning a lot of calories. You just step on the treadmill and do your jogging or running and on top of that, you could still multi-task some other activities such as watching TV or reading a book. Lifestyler treadmills have a shock absorbing effect when you step on them, causing less strain on the knees and ankles. Not only does it promote faster calorie burning but it prevents injuries as well. A Lifestyler Treadmill makes exercising easy, helping you do your cardiovascular exercise and lose weight easier.
Usually, elder people tend to be fragile. The whole thought of going outdoors to do cardiovascular exercises is stressful for them. Some also don’t have the time to go out to do that. By using treadmills, they could do cardiovascular exercises in the comfort of their living room. Recommend your parents to use Lifestyler treadmills to achieve optimal health and minimize health risks as they get older.
Is The Type Of Bicycle Seat Really That Important?
Posted by whaleadmin in Health & Fitness on October 12th, 2009
Ask any serious cyclist how important the bicycle seat is and you’ll probably hear an earful. But this isn’t just important for the serious cyclist. It’s important for anyone who wants to comfortably ride their bike regularly. If you go for a long but fun bike ride one day and make plans to go out again the next day only to find your butt is sore from the day before what sounded like a great idea all of a sudden doesn’t sound so fun anymore.
Most of us need more exercise so it’s important to make it as enjoyable as possible so we keep doing it on a regular basis. Having a good, comfortable bicycle seat helps make riding more fun and encourages you to go out more. Anything that encourages us to go outside more and exercise is a great thing.
Exercise and Health

Exercise and health go hand in hand with bettering yourself and becoming more fit. Most people in the world today do not engage in regular physical activity and are considered sedentary. A sedentary individual is someone that doesn’t do any form of exercise throughout the day. The combination of a sedentary lifestyle and a poor diet results in many people being obese. Obesity can cause many other health complications as serious as diabetes, heart conditions and eventually death. People need to exercise and eat healthy as if their life depended on it because in many cases it does. Taking small steps today will become life altering decisions in the long run. Make the small changes in life even if it’s as simple as taking the stairs or eating one piece of fruit instead of a donut.
