3 Simple Steps for Eyebrow Tattoo Aftercare

If you are thinking of having an eyebrow tattoo done or if you have done it already then you must know on how to take care of it when you get home. Your tattoo specialist should have given you a homecare kit for you to use but if he/she didn’t gave you any, then here are three steps for you to follow to take care of those tattoos.

1. The basic eyebrow tattoo aftercare procedure is done is to protect from dirt and other factors that can casue infection. After the tattooing, the artist will cover it with a moisturizer or an ointment to keep it protected and base on the time of the procedure you must rememeber to apply a new coat of moisturizer. If the procedure was done in the morning, then before you sleep apply a new coat and leave overnight. If the procedure is done in the afternoon or evening, then just leave it overnight and apply a new coat in the morning. It is safe to pratice this for the next few days to keep the eyebrow tattoo protected.

2. Never touch the fresh eyebrow tattoo with your bare hands. It is safer to use a cotton swab to touch it or apply a new coat of cream. Another great tip is to minimize your face from exposure to steam or to soak it to long in water. If you are reapplying cream, clean your face with warm water and use a cotton swab or wipes to apply cream or moisturizer.

3. An eyebrow tattoo may feel tight after a procedure, don’t fret because this is normal. If you need to apply cream, remember to use a sterile ointment and cotton swabs. Never let your face or the area be exposed to water for a long period of time. Usually maintenance of the area is for about a few days to a week so make it a habit to moisturize your face or the area. apply cream 6 to 8 times a day, never let it be dry or flaky and you should prevent scratching.

Another piece of advice to remember is that swelling and redness may occur but it should be for only a day or two. If the swelling and redness doesn’t go away then it is best to go to your doctor for a consultation. Remember to maintain a journal which monitors the progress of recovery. Avoid activities that will expose you to too much sun or may let you perspire because it will prolong the recovery period and may add infection to the eyebrow area.
