There are many reasons why someone would want to become a DJ. Some people like the thought of being in control of a large crowd of people, some think it’s a great way to socialise, and others do it purely for the love of the music. Regardless of what your motivation is for wanting to become a DJ, there are two different ways to approach it.

The first, and cheapest option is to teach yourself. You are still going to need to fork out some money on equipment, but there are plenty of websites available where you can learn how to become a DJ. The only downside to this method is that you need to be self motivated and practice regularly. If you need a little more structure imposed upon you to succeed, then you should pick up the phone book and see if you can find someone who provides DJ lessons. If you can’t find any, try your local music shop, quite often people will post their availability for lessons on the notice boards.
