Eating Low Carb Meals

Do you want to start a low carb eating regime but you don’t know where to start?  Here is a little primer on what to eat and what not to eat.  There are a lot of good books available that give exact carb counts for foods but there are some basic foods you stay away from and others that you tend to eat a lot of.

First off bread and chips are not allowed.  They are packed with carbs because they come from grains.  Basically anything that is grain derived will have a lot of carbs.  Stay away from sweets.  simple sugars are converted into carbs almost instantly in the body and sky rocket your blood sugar.  Third limit fruit.  I don’t cut it clear out because there are many vitamins and minerals in fruit but they are high in fructose which is a sugar.

These are some general food groups to stay away from with a low carb meals plan.
