Delia had qualified two years ago as a Licensed Practical Nurse, or LPN. After looking at many different types of LPN jobs she had decided to take a job in a hospital. She was actually really enjoying it. Although she was under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) all the time she had learnt loads. She was able to administer injections, she took her patients vital signs, she dressed wounds and she was able to take down detailed patient medical histories.
There were some aspects of her LPN job that she was not so sure she did enjoy. To start with she seemed to spend most her working day on her feet, and she found at the end of the day her feet really ached. She also worried at some of the lifting and handling procedures. She worried about making a mistake. But overall Delia was really pleased she had become an LPN. She felt she was a credit to society.
