Today, just as many marriages end in divorce as those that end with death. But there seems to be less and less discussion about whether or divorce is a good idea for couple to engage in. It is pretty much assumed that when somebody in the relationship wants to call it quits that calling up their local divorce attorney is the way to do it. They might make some attempt to save the marriage by going to a counselor or something like that, but still, a very large number of marriages end up with the parties calling it quits.

I’m certainly of the opinion that this is not good for families, not good for individual adults, and it is definitely not good for children. I happen to live in San Diego and it is a great place to live, but there is just too many marriages falling apart in this city. San Diego divorce lawyers make a lot of money here because so many people, especially those with a lot of money end there marriages.

This is not a good thing and it is damaging the society that we live. I think that no marriage should ever end forever in divorce, but I also think that getting married should be treated with a lot more seriousness than it currently is. There are lot of reasons that I would still want to allow divorce in some circumstances, like when one spouse is being abusive or is engaged in activities that endangers the life or mental health of their spouse or children. But on the whole, I wish it never happened.
