Tying the Knot with an Engagement and Wedding Ring Set

When it comes to the nerve wracking topic of proposing marriage, every couple likes to do it their own way. A proposal might be put to a girl (or boy if the girl grasps the nettle and does the asking!) in a very romantic setting, with an engagement ring already in hand. On the other hand, the couple might have been dating for a long time, and in a fit of passion, the all important proposal is made out of pure spontaneity. In which case there will not be any engagement rings waiting to be placed on fingers!
All is not lost though, and in some ways this eventuality spawns a beautiful opportunity. These days many jewelers offer ring sets of various types for couples wanting to get married. In fact, all three possibilities are easily catered for. First, a set that contains matching engagement and wedding rings; there are some fine examples of stylish white gold engagement rings set with diamonds or other gems together with coordinating white gold wedding rings. These are very popular with silvery white metal rings being in vogue at the moment. Importantly, having the two rings matched in their materials means that when worn on the same finger, they do not do any damage to each other. Sometimes, if bought separately, one ring might be harder than the other and cause scratches on the surface of the other.
The second combination in a ring set is matching his and hers wedding rings. This is a very romantic gesture, and symbolic of the two marriage partners being a perfect match to each other. Then finally, the third option is the trio ring set containing three matching rings: the his and hers wedding rings together with an engagement ring for the woman.
The great thing about getting ring sets containing engagement and wedding rings is the symbolism, which says the man and woman are matched like two peas in a pod; but also the practicality of having rings of identical materials that will not damage each other. Combine these with the fact that often, a set can be cheaper than shopping around for separate rings which sort of match up, this is a perfect way to begin a wonderful new chapter of your lives – together.
