Tips for buying a SAD lamp

If you are one of the many people affected by SAD each winter, there is no reason for you to suffer any longer. There are a large amount of lights for you to choose from on the market today that help to treat the disease. If you’re going to buy a light for SAD, the first thing you need to do is make sure that it provides full spectrum light. This imitates real sunlight and is what stimulates your retinas to create the brain chemicals that you are lacking without regular sunlight exposure. Next, make sure that the light is at or around 10,000 lux. This should be much brighter than your normal household lights, which are about 400 lux each. Finally if you are buying a SAD desk lamp, make sure that you check the size of the footprint it will leave on your desk. Make sure that it not only fits, but that you’ll be able to get some work done while you are sitting in front of it.
